“An excellent pathologist with broad interests from histology to molecular processes,” says one nominator. “Chella has experience with state-of-the-art molecular techniques like targeted NGS assays and exome sequencing. Therefore, she is a very good sparring partner for clinical scientists in pathology.” Other nominators called attention to her role as representative of all medical trainees in the Netherlands – the first time a pathologist has held such a position – or to her status as first author of the authoritative clinical guidelines on hereditary diffuse gastric cancer.
