The Power List 2024

Welcome to the 2024 edition of The Pathologist Power List – our annual feature dedicated to shining a spotlight on the highly valued work of pathologists and laboratory medicine professionals across the globe.

We asked you all to nominate individuals whose leadership, innovation, principles, or sheer drive inspire you. Our esteemed expert judging panel – composed primarily of past Power Listers – scoured the entries to select those who shone most brilliantly. Now, The Pathologist has the pleasure of presenting some of the opinions, hopes, and aspirations of the few, as a reflection of the accomplishments of many.

We hope this collection illustrates the value that people attribute to those who inspire them – in the lab and beyond.

This year, we present five categories that encompass the skills of a wide range of talented individuals:

• Heroes of Pathology – problem-solvers for those in difficulty

• Champions for Change – drivers of environmental, social, and governance initiatives

• Idols of Innovation – researchers, inventors, and transformers

• In the Wings – non-pathologist laboratory medicine professionals

• Destined for Excellence – rising stars

Rather, to formulate the Power List, The Pathologist solicited nominations of pathologists and laboratory professionals in any stage of their careers, who have made accomplishments in the past year in one of the following categories: (i) Heroes of Pathology; (ii) Champions for Change; (iii) Idols of Innovation; (iv) In the Wings; and (v) Destined for Excellence. All decisions were made by The Pathologist. As the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) did not participate in the nomination or selection process, it does not formally endorse the list.}
