Test Utilization Optimization in Pathology

Pathologists and laboratory professionals have an obligation to provide excellent care – as efficiently as possible. Nowadays, a varied selection of clinical laboratory and other diagnostic tests exist – but which tests should be ordered and what kind of information is needed before doing so? And, perhaps most importantly, do the tests need to be done at all?

Put simply, ordering the right test for the right patient at the right time has become an art. Join renowned specialists Sylvia Asa from Case Western University, Fred Bosman from the University of Lausanne in Switzerland, Lowel Tilzer from the University of Kansas Medical Cente and Mark Wick from the University of Virginia as they share their opinions on what constitutes best practice.

Moderated by Senior Editor Bibiana Campos Seijo, the roundtable explores the correct balance between quantity and quality, the challenges and opportunities for implementing new technologies, strategies for optimizing lab workflows and test turnaround times, and more.
