CellDetect® Bladder Cancer Kit Boosts the Detection of Low Grade Tumors in Urine Specimens

Please log in for more information

Low grade bladder cancer cells are often difficult to detect with current staining procedures and there is a real need for more accurate diagnostic solutions. Combining color and morphology, CellDetect® sets a new standard for the early detection of bladder cancer recurrence in urine specimens.

Research tools for the automated diagnosis of cancerous cells in CellDetect® smears have been recently shown to detect low grade bladder cancer cells with a performance comparable to that of microscopic examination. Development of innovative multivariate algorithms, involving nuclear morphometric descriptors based on both color and morphology, pave the way to enhanced image analysis for digital cytopathology.

CellDetect® is a Trademark of Zetiq Technologies, a fully-owned subsidiary of Micromedic. Micromedic Technologies Ltd. (TASE: MCTC) is engaged in the development and commercialization of unique solutions addressing substantial unmet needs in the field of cancer diagnostics, primarily early cancer detection. Micromedic has initiated the process of engaging partners for the commercialization of the CellDetect® Bladder Cancer kit in Europe and countries adopting the CE regulatory standard. Selective European medical centers have already started using the product.
