Intro to pathology? Since I was a young boy, I've always wanted to work in a lab, experimenting with chemicals and glassware while wearing a white lab coat. My passion for laboratory science hasn't changed, even though I know it's more than just working with chemicals. This passion drives me forward in the field. Learning about pathology and lab science feels like a dream come true. I was always a curious child, eager to learn, and my parents supported my interest in this field. Choosing a career in laboratory science has brought me great satisfaction, as it allows me to contribute to healthcare by helping diagnose and treat diseases, improving patients' quality of life.

Biggest challenge in pathology? The main challenge for labs is the lack of trained staff and infrastructure in rural areas. The country's pathology workforce is under significant pressure due to the growing population and healthcare demands. While urban areas may have better resources and technology, the lack of infrastructure and manpower in rural areas leads to delays and inadequate diagnoses. AI and digital tools have improved pathology and changed how things work, but some pathologists struggle to adapt to these changes. Additionally, cost-cutting in healthcare can limit new innovations in pathology.

Exciting developments and trends? The rise of technology and AI is one of the most exciting advancements in pathology. AI has greatly changed the field, with algorithms and digital imaging now able to analyze slides and detect abnormalities that the human eye might miss. Digital scanners produce high-resolution images of slides, and this digital technology allows for tele-consultations, bringing expert advice to remote and rural areas. Together, these technologies have made a significant impact on the future of pathology.
