Biggest challenge in pathology? I feel the most challenging aspect of my work is staffing. Histology Techs and EM Techs are very difficult to source – especially those with a high level of subject matter expertise.

Exciting developments and trends? I'm excited about the technical advancements in pathology, especially the innovations happening in labs. Histology is seeing improvements with new instruments and the integration of IT into the process.

Professional ambitions? I am currently taking this year to participate in a mentoring program that I hope will be offered in 2025 here at Northwestern. Also, I hope to complete a Master’s Program in Health Analytics or Healthcare Administration that will lead to my serving the labs in anatomic pathology on a higher level.
