Biggest challenge in pathology? The biggest challenge in the pathological field today is the integration of AI into routine clinical practice. This brings technological, regulatory, and practical hurdles that need to be addressed. Successfully overcoming these challenges will improve diagnostic accuracy, efficiency, and ultimately patient outcomes.

In my personal view, one issue is the high costs of implementing these digital pathology systems into the field which would require a substantial financial investment. Addressing these challenges requires a coordinated effort from various stakeholders, including healthcare providers, researchers, industry partners, regulatory bodies, and policymakers. Investment in technology, training, and infrastructure are essential to advancement of the pathological field and improve patient outcomes.

Book recommendation? One book I highly recommend for scientists, especially those in the field of pathology, is "Robbins & Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease" by Vinay Kumar, Abul K. Abbas, and Jon C. Aster. It provides an extensive and thorough overview of pathology, covering fundamental principles and mechanisms of diseases, as well as specific disorders across all organ systems. This book is richly illustrated with high-quality images, diagrams, and tables that help in understanding these complex pathological processes very easily. With its detailed explanations and clear, concise writing style, it is widely used in medical schools and pathology training programs around the world .

Qualities of innovative thinkers? The most important qualities of an innovative thinker are being passionate, willing to fail, unleashing creativity, mastering critical thinking, fostering collaboration, and being a courageous risk-taker.

Curiosity leads to a deep interest in solving problems. Curious thinkers are open to new experiences and perspectives. They are willing to consider unconventional ideas and approaches, which is essential for innovation.

Passion is a great force that unleashes creativity. When someone is deeply passionate about a subject or activity, they often become more engaged, self-motivated, and inspired. This heightened state of enthusiasm can lead to innovative thinking and creative solutions.

Collaboration with other colleagues is indispensable for the innovator thinker. The innovator, usually values various points of view, accepts criticism, recommendations, and fosters a pleasant environment that allows the development of the strengths of his colleagues in search of other possible solutions. The researcher must be receptive to new ideas, and be prepared to adjust their strategies as needed.
