Syed is a Professor of Pathology and Director of the Division of Cytopathology at Johns Hopkins Medicine. His research interests include diagnostic issues and prognostic factors of clinicopathologic analyses, focusing on aspiration cytopathology of the pancreas, thyroid, and soft tissues. As Past President of the American Society of Cytopathology and Chair of the International Board of Cytopathology, Syed still finds time in his busy schedule to share stunning cytopathology images and contribute to important online discussions. Having authored many textbooks and peer-reviewed publications, he is now the curator of a large social network!
