Zoltan is a Professor of Clinical Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where he specializes in surgical and renal pathology. Zoltan and his team are among the earliest adopters of digital pathology in the US after a desire to decrease the time taken to share frozen sections among his institution’s three hospitals resulted in a digitally enhanced workflow – and a large internal validation effort that turned into a major success story. Today, Zoltan and UCSF are approaching a 100 percent digital pathology operation, setting the bar for digital adoption across the country.
