Described by nominators as a leader in interventional pathology in Europe, she is an expert in ultrasound-guided procedures that ensure optimal tissue sampling for faster and more confident diagnosis. During the COVID-19 crisis, Karen developed a protocol for tissue sampling with ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy to minimize the likelihood of infection for those performing procedures.
