About Ivan Damjanov

Ivan is currently a Professor of Pathology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where he has worked for 24 years.

His nomination stems from his inspiring approach to teaching, and helping boost the status of pathology in Croatia. When reflecting on one of the lighter moments in his career, Ivan recalls, “A medical student evaluation of my yearlong teaching was reduced to four words: ‘Silly, funny, old man.’ It still makes me chuckle!”
