About Kabeer Shah

Nominators say that Kabeer “is engaging the medical field through social media as well as promoting open-access medical education.” He is a pathology resident and future dermatopathology fellow at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, and a recent winner of the American Society of Dermatopathology’s Mentorship Award. He’s also active on social media, where he participates in case studies and informative polling of his Twitter audience. Prior to his current position, Kabeer earned a degree in biomedical and biochemical engineering from Arizona State University and a DO at Rocky Vista College of Osteopathic Medicine.

His varied interests include the molecular biology of tumors (and in particular, melanoma-specific genetic alterations), digital pathology and telepathology, and quality improvement in clinical practice.
