About Jerad Gardner
Jerad was nominated for his “advanced knowledge of pathology through social media networks.” In addition to his social media fame, he is an assistant professor of pathology and dermatology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine and was recently appointed as a deputy editor-in-chief of the Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
“I want to look back at the end of my career and say to myself, ‘I cared for my patients like I would my own family. I mentored and educated my students, residents, and fellows so that they could have satisfying careers and help their own patients. I left pathology at least a little bit better than I found it.’” To Jerad, a legacy of positive impact on others’ lives indicates a career well spent. “Every day, I strive to achieve these goals,” he says. “This is what motivates me.”
