About Elizabeth Rinehart

“She is not only an outstanding pathologist, but is working beyond the laboratory to promote and improve the profession of pathology.” Elizabeth received extensive kudos from nominators for her investment in patient care, which one described as “a personal quest.” She has hosted patients in her home, supported charities established in their honor, played an integral part in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing, and is even involved in politics to improve patient care. As well, Elizabeth works with the College of American Pathologists on resident training and member engagement while developing her own leadership skills so that she can advocate even more fiercely for pathology and its practitioners. One nominator concludes, “It is clear that Dr Rinehart is not only a strong, up-and-coming pathologist, but is on a trajectory to be a significant influence on the practice of pathology in the years to come.”
