About Dean Ho
Dean is Professor and Co-Director of the Weintraub Center for Reconstructive Biotechnology at the UCLA School of Dentistry, and an internationally recognized leader in personalized medicine and nanomedicine. Recently, he successfully led a landmark clinical study to individualize immunosuppression, substantially improving patient outcomes. He has also pioneered the development of nanodiamond-based diagnostic platforms and drug delivery agents. “I chose to go into nanomedicine given the marked enhancements to both diagnostics and therapy that can be uniquely enabled using nanomaterials,” he explains. “Nanomedicine has the ability to overcome many of the challenges that confront the fields of pathology and laboratory medicine.”
