Strength in Partnerships

A celebration of collaboration to mark the end of 2023

By E. Blair Holladay, George Francis Lee 12/01/2023 Opinion 1 min read

This year the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) co-hosted the Union for International Cancer Control’s World Cancer Leaders’ Summit (WCLS): a two-day, invitation-only event that brought together leaders in global health and cancer care from around the world. The meeting addressed international issues and challenges surrounding cancer care, and provided a platform where influential figures could come together to collaborate and help shape much-needed and effective policies.

The success of these collaborations comes from understanding that we can’t do this alone. I had the good fortune to present keynote remarks at WCLS to emphasize the importance of partnerships, the laboratory’s critical role in cancer care, and the need for continued collaboration in order to provide better care for all patients – everywhere.
