A recent study published in The Journal of Pathology identifies distinct genetic profiles between TdT-positive large B-cell lymphomas (LBCL) and B-lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma (B-ALL/LBL). Researchers analyzed 31 cases to enhance differential diagnosis using targeted next-generation sequencing of 187 genes. Findings indicated that TdT-positive DLBCLs often carried mutations typical of follicular lymphoma, while B-ALL/LBL cases exhibited different mutational traits. The study concluded that mutation profiling could significantly aid in distinguishing these two neoplasms.
