A retrospective study assessed the cytological features of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma using liquid-based cytology (LBC) from 254 FNA samples obtained between 2016 and 2023. The research identified key cytomorphologic patterns associated with malignancy, such as necrotic backgrounds and hyperchromatic nuclei, with findings showing higher frequencies in malignant cases. Notably, patients receiving palliative care exhibited more necrosis. The study highlights LBC's utility in cytological diagnosis and emphasizes cell blocks for ancillary testing, despite inherent limitations.
