Case of the Month

A liver cancer case from Nepal

Case history


An 80-year-old male presented with weight loss. Physical examination detected an enlarged liver. Abdominal CT/MRI revealed: a 9 x 6.5 cm lesion in segment VIII of the right liver lobe, with central necrosis. Additionally, lesions were found in segments III and IVb measuring 3 cm and 4 cm, respectively. Lower pole of the right kidney showed a 1.4 cm lesion and multiple nodular lesions were seen in both lungs. Biopsy of the liver lesion is shown.
