Drug resistance is on the rise – and our pool of reliable antimicrobials is rapidly decreasing as pathogens develop mechanisms to survive treatment. This roundtable, recorded on June 22, 2022, invites experts working in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) to discuss the field from a laboratory perspective. How has the problem of AMR developed over the years? How are laboratory professionals helping in the global fight? And what does the future look like? They also discuss the impact of COVID-19, challenges currently facing the lab in identifying and addressing drug-resistant pathogens, and why collaborating with clinical and academic colleagues is so important for tackling the problem.
