There is a pressing need for data that constrains our uncertainty about the current level of prevalent immunity. We need serological testing – not necessarily massively large-scale, but certainly sufficient to get a handle on how many people have had COVID-19 in the past few weeks. What proportion of people have had the infection and will have therefore a reduced probability of being reinfected? That’s an incredibly important unknown.
