Against All Odds

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the laboratory was thrown into the spotlight like never before. More people than ever were suddenly aware of the integral work pathologists and medical laboratory scientists do to provide high-quality care – not only during challenging global health crises, but on a daily basis.

Though that spotlight infinitely increased the visibility of the laboratory, there is still more we can do.

This year, ASCP produced a new documentary, Against All Odds: Virus Detectives Battling COVID-19, which takes a deep dive into the important work done in the laboratory and the need to engage and strengthen the laboratory workforce. Without the critical work we do, laboratory services – and healthcare as a whole – would face severe disruption.

I encourage you to watch the trailer below – or take a look at the full documentary online. Share it with your friends and colleagues and help us keep shining a spotlight on the laboratory.
