Professor of Microbial Ecology at the Alexander Silberman Institute of Life Sciences, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. Aharon is also list editor, nomenclature reviewer, and past editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology and past chair of the International Committee on Systematics of Prokaryotes.
