This week, we celebrated #LabWasteDay – a time to consider the potential environmental repercussions of science and medicine. Of course, both are necessary, but can we do anything to mitigate their effects on the planet? The answer is yes! Reduce (use fewer or smaller items); reuse (for instance, autoclavable plastic); recycle (non-hazardous materials); replace (disposable items with reusable ones); and rethink (your lab’s approach to waste).
